CITARÁ CLIFFS

Thanks for reading again, I have not stop traveling arround Colombia and for this new post, I find out some photos of my most recent trip in the southwestern of Antioquia (state) in Colombia, also, de department of the very city known as Medellín. In this trip, I travel from this city about 160km.  In time, takes about 3 hours’ drive this distance because the hard ways of this country, remember that three arms of the Andes Mountains cross this land, and this is what we are going to talk about.

Ciudad Bolivar is a municipality located from the main city (Medellín- Capital) at 3 hours in a very hard but beautiful drive (landscapes) through the mountains, and when I say this, please stop thinking that you´ll probably find Tarzan here.

Once we are here, we are to trip about 35 minutes to a place that locals call “Corregimiento” that is a little town near the Main-Town.  After this time above dirt road, we get the FARALLONES “Valley” (for say “Corregimiento” in some way) and here, you will have to look up to the marvelous mountain in front of you, you won’t believe but his top has about 4008maslv, and get the top is possible asking for a man named Ivan Solis, this guy can take you to the top in three days.

The state history says that in the 90`s there was an airplane flying from Uraba to some town in the southwestern of the department when suddenly crashed against the top of this very long chain of mountains (about 120km of the occidental Andes Mountain`s arm) and for sure, he is going to you the crashed airplane (tail) just finishing the climb.

For this trip, I did not planned to climb, but after met this guy, you be sure that my next photos will be over there.

Oh! I have some info about visitors, there was a guy (Ivan says) that came from EU and said that this is most exciting that Colorado Canon.

Well, believe this is up to you, and remember that this is not a blog for tourist, but for travelers.

Smells coffee

Look at the landscapes

Meet other travelers (the Farallones valley is very very small, but when I went there I found a film production team of NEXPRESSO recording a coffee commercial)

Your skin will be ok, temperature is about 18- 22C  (not at the top for sure)

And You will hear, the weather.

BIRDS AND NATURE

THE LONESOME

There´s a bird, the one that I´ll be talking in this new post because call my attention and I would like to share you and introduce you the bird named “LA SOLEDAD” in English could be interpreted as “ THE LONESOME”  and why this bird?

Even when we know that this is the kind of bird that uses to build their nest in rocks with a big fall, it is possible to find it without seeking it. I mean, that is usually saw for people that is eating in a restaurant in the city (Poblado city)  and also when you are driving from the city to our region at 120km, is easy to see it in the street, trees or flying. But this does not mean that when see one of them you won’t get enlaced to keep and keep seeing as they fly over you showing all his majestic colors and beautiful body covered all by green, blue, black, orange and brown plumage.

Now, why to write about a simple bird .that is too easy to find out? Well, not at all when you know that it is only the opening. Yes, there is one more bird of this kind that even MYSELF have not get yet the opportunity to see, even when I know that it is as near as the mountain here is. His name is “SOLEDAD REAL” in English is something like “THE ROYAL LONESOME”

A decided to post about birds, because even when I´m living in the land of the SMALLEST hummingbird of the whole world I have not saw this ROYAL BIRD but I want to describe you how must it looks as I heard it by my good friend Joseph, last night while were talking and drinking coffee:

The Royal Lonesome, is totally pink, more big that the traditional one you have seen before, but this is very much hard to find and not at all, because above all the green of the grass, of the mountains and under the blue sky you are totally sure that as soon as you find something pink moving around it is because you have find one of them.

That´s the best description my friend could gave me that night. If you are a birds lover, this two bird of a very big nature offer will involve you in the grandiose  and magnificent beauty of the land captured in a simple bird.
