PARAGLIDING IN COLOMBIA PART 2

Yes, A new topic about Paragliding, and I want to share you stg that I read in newspapers when Colombia won the Miss Universe. If you are reading this around the globe, maybe you had the same tough. It is a little funny but the Question What is Colombia? Grow up a lot, in the google search after Miss Universe… hehehehe it is like to ask, what is the ocean? Come on, we are in the map. Please…  So, I will ask to this people? Where were your geography teacher? Anyway, this is a new topic about paragliding.

Well, I used, as you already know, to travel around Colombia in my 135cc Bajaj motorcycle, actually I am recording a new film production about the topic in this post, well, I went to the FAI 14^th Paragliding World Cup in Roldanillo, Colombia. More than 45 countries came to participate in a great competence of 10 days. (Cross Country tasks) and you can see below the result´s link.

"Panachi" at Chicamocha Canyon

In this production, I have traveled around my country to the best places to fly, and, I do not if you know, but Colombia has de second canyon bigger in the whole world, and its name is The Chicamocha Canyon. I went there, even I’m typing this just one day before I came back to my city, Medellin… was a complete trip of more than a thousand of kilometers, but oh God, was great.

What I want to share In this post about paragliding, is that, if I had have not start this film production I have never known how great my country is to provide pilots around the globe places to fly every time in the year! Being the best moths from January to March... whatever, you can fly whenever.

Finally, I want to share you the promo of this production, It does not have any transmitter jet (TV or Cinema) but, I totally sure that it will be able soon… actually we are in pos production after 6 week of hard production… I have just bought my new theme for the web site where you can watch all that I do in Colombia, but…. I do not why does OBOX themes does fix well in word press. Anyway, that´s another topic.

1) A tandem fly in Chicamocha Canyon could cost arround the 70 and 80 US in a dinamic fly. (20-25 minutes)
2) The neares city is Bucaramanga (45 minutes) 
3) You can also visit near the Canyon the town Barichara (50 minutes) and San Gil (40 minutes. By car. All this places ar touristic ones, so, many people arround the globe is always there.

PARAGLIDING IN COLOMBIA, WITH LOVE FROM FRANCE

Hello! Long time ago that I have not post to you my dear friends around the world. Let me introduce you myself again, I am Edward Alejandro, a film producer.  

My recent trip in this mystical country, that is still marvelous to me (this is my land) has been to an incredible places with the company of one friend of mine named Manu Bonte, from France. He used to travel each year to the country that he knows much more than me, hehe, to fly over it in a paragliding adventure.

Now, January and February, is the best time in Colombia to practice paragliding, and by Manu`s words I can say, that “Is the best country in the whole world to fly” And maybe is because it is not easy, to get the a perfect place to fly, you are to walk, ride a horse, take a bus, or truck, or mule… all you need to climb the wild mountains.

Now, actually I am in the very production of a complete documentary about this sport in my country, possible, I will travel to France soon, to make some history connection, because, in June of this year starts the world vivac competence in the Swiss Alps, so, could be great be there.  And from Colombia, we have a sports man there, his name is Alex Villa, that Actually is traveling (flying) from Medellín, to Cali, this is about 350km and three days of adventure over the coffee land.

So, been no more, please taking a breath and come to Colombia.

NOTE: If want to know more about Colombia, I am planning a ground trip around it, by motorcycle, I will go to more than 20 different historic towns; and historic, because more of them were built by people from Europe in the conquest, so, will be great to visit them and show you how can you get there by earth. PARQUE ARVÍ, SANTA ELENA- MEDELLÍN

When coming to Medellín City, is a good idea to visit the National Arvi Park in Santa Elena Town. The park it is not far from the city, only takes 40 minutes by cable car to be there, and it is possible to sleep in a hostel located at no more than 15 minutes by walk from the cable car station, hostel`s name is Arvi Hostel.  www.arvihostel.com and able at Hostel World. 

Now, one day it is not enough to enjoy the park, because there is 17,000 acres of extension from which 130 are a part of a park designed with extreme sports as canopy is, an another activities for enjoy in family, and in solo trip.

What kind of activities is possible to enjoy in the Arvi Park?

Horse Rental: trough natural path and eco trials

Boat Rental: to enjoy a big lake in the forest.

Eco trail walking: 60 minutes of nature, water and natural bath.

Comfama and Comfenalco Parks.

Paint Ball Zone

And what you can enjoy by your knowledge in all the nature able.

If you are a Bike traveler, you have to cross all the city and get the 60 rout, the same that communicates the city with the international airport, as soon as you see the entrance to PIEDRAS BLANCAS, take it, this entrance is not far, when you cross the tunnel, it takes no more than 15 minutes to read the PIEDRA BLANCAS entrance advertisement. Then, you`ll start climbing for 15 minutes to the TAMBO sector, where is located the hostel, and parking slots for you bike or car.

Enjoy your time at the Arvi Park, and do not forget to do, what you`ll never have the chance to do in other side of the world.
